CBCS PTA helped purchase tools to build the student-designed and student-built house at 906 Butte Avenue in the Town of Crested Butte.
Students in Todd Wasinger’s Applied Architecture class designed and drafted the home and went through the approval process with BOZAR with assistance from local professionals, including architect Gary Hartman.
Students from Adam Ofstedahl’s Fundamentals of Construction class worked on the construction of the home along with Todd, Adam, contractor John Stock and members of his crew at High Mountain Concepts, and other local subcontractors.
The project was such a success that CBCS is going to continue this student design/build program. The tools PTA purchased will be used again and again carrying this program into the future. The next home is already being designed. It is going to be a duplex in CB South.
